LearnHGV (“we”, “us”) is a project of Webco Services Ltd and operates learnhgv.co.uk — a UK directory of HGV training providers and a jobs board. This policy explains what personal data we process and why. It is written for clarity; it is not legal advice.

Who we are
The data controller for LearnHGV is Webco Services Ltd. Contact us at the email above for privacy requests.
What we collect
- Provider and employer accounts — name, work email, organisation details, and listing or job content you submit.
- Magic-link sign-in — we email a one-time login link to the address you provide. We do not store passwords for these flows.
- Public directory data — business names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, courses, and similar information shown on listings (often sourced from public websites or submitted by the provider).
- Technical logs — standard server and hosting logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) needed to run and secure the site.
- Emails you send us — if you contact hello@learnhgv.co.uk, we keep the correspondence to reply and resolve issues.
We do not run a public contact form that stores messages in our database. Browse and search do not require an account.
Why we use it
- To publish and maintain training listings and job ads
- To authenticate providers and employers via email magic links
- To respond to support, claim, and partnership enquiries
- To keep the service secure and diagnose faults
- To meet legal obligations where they apply
Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are typically legitimate interests (operating a public directory and jobs board), contract (providing the account tools you request), and consent where we ask for it.
Processors and hosting
We use trusted processors to run LearnHGV, including hosting (for example Vercel), a database provider, and transactional email (Resend) for magic links and similar messages. They process data only on our instructions.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for signed-in sessions (provider, employer, and admin). We do not currently use advertising or third-party marketing cookies. If we add analytics that need consent, we will update this policy and, where required, ask before setting non-essential cookies.
How long we keep data
Account and listing data is kept while the account or listing is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for security and dispute handling. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Server logs are retained for a limited operational window.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Email us to exercise your rights — we may need to verify your identity.
Children
LearnHGV is aimed at adults considering professional HGV training and employment. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
